to lean principles, 2Source has adopted the Toyota Production System to
reduce lead times and eliminate waste throughout the supply chain.

2Source’s primary metric is lead time: By reducing our lead time we can
achieve all other objectives by definition.

2Source’s other key metrics are:

  • Safety (days since lost time),
  • Escapes (customer quality)
  • Internal scrap rate
  • Number of line-items late
  • Inventory turns
  • Profitability as a percent of budget

All metrics are posted weekly on our walls for 2Source people to track.

2Source is in the process of transitioning from partial to fully integrated
cellular manufacturing (small batch flow) Our goal is to achieve more by
doing less. The results: less inventory, less time, less space and less people
are needed to become increasingly more responsive and flexible to
customer demands in price, quality and delivery.
